Take My Hand
Take My Hand | An Introduction to Interactive and Immersive Theatre
Take My Hand is an afternoon of assorted practical workshops providing a brief introduction to the diverse world of interactive and immersive theatre. The first series was hosted by SPECIFIQ at the National Maritime Museum on 23rd April 2017 before returning on 2nd December 2017 with all new workshops.
Take My Hand offers an introduction to the diverse world of interactive and immersive theatre. Aimed at students from every theatrical discipline, we offer a range of practical workshops providing an overview of this increasingly popular sector of the theatre industry. With shows like The Drowned Man, You Me Bum Bum Train and The Crystal Maze Live Experience enjoying widespread coverage, and with the boundaries between play, experience and installation blurring, we introduce students to ideas and skillsets that few training programmes yet offer.
The programme is generously hosted by the National Maritime Museum, who actively engage in non-traditional storytelling as part of their cultural offering. Part of Royal Museums Greenwich the National Maritime Museum is the world’s largest maritime museum with a vast collection that spans artworks, maps and charts, memorabilia and thousands of other objects.
Previous Take My Hand speakers and workshop leaders have included Alison Neighbour (Shunt, Fuel), Mel.Cook (Coney, Hide&Seek, Punchdrunk), Neil Connolly (HEIST, National Theatre), Dean Rodgers (Time Run, The Crystal Maze), differencEngine (The People's Revolt, HEIST), Lab Collective (The Candidate, Pinstripe Trilogy), and Roland Smith, Co-Artistic Director of Theatre Delicatessen.
