The British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) commissioned SPECIFIQ to provide live entertainment and an event app for Infinite Variety, the BAcC’s annual international conference. Held over three-days at the De Veres Orchard Hotel and East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham, Infinite Variety brought together over 300 delegates, exhibitors and speakers from around the world. 

The brief was two-fold. The event app was to act as a conference schedule and to provide delegates with information about exhibitors and speakers. The live entertainment was to be a conduit through which delegates could meet each other and network. We suggested that in addition to providing a schedule, the app could have increased functionality such as an internal social network and push notifications for live updates throughout the day. We also developed a digital component to the live entertainment which provided a further incentive for conference attendees to download the app. Throughout the conference, interactive performers disguised as exhibitors invited attendees to participate in friendly competitions themed around the history of acupuncture. These culminated in a theatrical prize giving ceremony at the closing dinner, for which exhibitors were given the opportunity to donate or sponsor prizes. 

SPECIFIQ interweaved interactive performance with digital engagement to provide the BAcC with a unique way to promote its brand, increasing exposure for sponsors and exhibitors and encouraging memorable networking amongst delegates.
