Mind The Gap

Mind The Gap | An Interactive Adventure for School Groups

Eccentric Victorian Time-Traveller Phyllis has got lost in the London Transport System! Follow clues to help find and rescue her as you explore the London Transport Museum's cavernous depot, solving a series of fiendish riddles before the time runs out...

SPECIFIQ was commissioned by the London Transport Museum to create an interactive experience for school groups that engaged with the museum's collection in a highly imaginative way. Using game mechanics and escape-the-room style puzzles, with a memorable and entertaining central character, we devised a 90-minute treasure hunt through the history of London's various transport networks, introducing students to factual content through compelling, investigative activities.

'SPECIFIQ brought all their ingenuity, flexibility and imagination to the table to create Mind the Gap for our Primary School programme. It was amazing how, from ambling conversations and exploratory ‘what if…’ and ‘are we allowed …’ ideas, they managed to invent something full of polish and magic.

When it came to the collection, they respected our rules while challenging us to push our boundaries every step of the way, brushing the (metaphorical!) dust off some of our less-used handling objects.  It’s refreshing to have something utterly different to our regular programme – and really fitting that it’s in the magical, completely unconventional museum-space that is the Depot.' Megan Dowsett, Schools and Interpretation Manager, London Transport Museum
